Cherries,
We're having another contest!  Because of the upcoming holidays, there will be an extended entry period, from today through January 15th.  Your job:  to describe one of Jenny's books in either a haiku or a limerick.  (Stick to those two, please; short forms keep us sane.)

After all entries are in, the moderators will winnow out finalists and put up a poll so that everybody can choose a winner.

Here's an example.
Welcome to Temptation
Dock hanky-panky
Leads to an epiphany:
Family triumphs.

Please remember that we have a broad membership of many ages and beliefs; the moderators will delete entries that are too graphic.   Every post must contain at least one entry; don't just say "attagirl!".

Go forth and have fun!

Ha! I am addicted to haiku and limericks. I am too weak to resist.

Faking It

There once was a muralist, twisted
But her criminal side she resisted
Until she met him
In a closet quite dim
And for stealing his aid she enlisted.

This is as close to a limerick as I can get:

Flying frying pans, missing mobster Frankie
Brenda wondered “Where did the bling go?”
“Where is the love?” moaned the pink flamingo
Anger issues made Agnes cranky
While hitman Shane played hanky panky

Yay! New stuff to distract me while I do the exercise bike or walk.

Welcome to Temptation:

A gal on a working vacation
Motored into the town of Temptation.
She came into her own,
Found a peach-painted home,
A new family, and her true vocation.

Faking It:

There once was an artist asthmatic
Who slept in a white-painted attic.
Hunting for a MacGuffin,
She enraptured a muffin
And now colors her whole world dramatic.

Am I thinking about my mystery story? Or the annual report/ten-page whitepaper/radio spots/sales letters on my work list? Noooo. I sit at my desk crooning, "There once was a woman named Min..." But I won't post any more after this until somebody else plays.

There once was a woman named Min
Whose mother nagged her to get thin.
But Fate sent her Cal
Through a bet with his pal.
Now the pair share a Krispy Kreme grin!

When dumped by her guy at the Long Shot
A date for Di's wedding was all Min sought
But then fate intervened--
Into Cal she careened
And by true love's snares they were both caught.

My stab at a Crazy For You haiku.

Quinn wanted vibrance.
Bill was too beige. Enter Nick.
Old flames burn brightly.

Haiku for Getting Rid of Bradley:

Goodbye to Bradley
Goodbye old hair color, too
Will keep all the dogs.
